We have been having a lot of problems lately on their grid-service for our sites on there. They do have good status updates and try to do something about it quickly but I do recommend going with their DV over grid.

I've run into this before too. Did you remember to set your files directory permissions to 777 or 775? You might need to recurse into all subdirectories under Files.

I find that switching from Fast-CGI to regular CGI for PHP mode under the Site Setup Option in the Control Panel fixes this problem. However, it varies from Dreamhost server to Dreamhost server as to whether you really need to do this.
