Bio

I'm currently experimenting with using c5 to replace a wiki-based nonprofit intranet. Seems a lot of end users are put off by the wiki syntax and such, and conversely aren't going to launch a big ol' blogging dashboard every time they want to change or add something. I think they'll be more comfortable with c5's in-page editing, so I'm giving that a try.

Best of luck to you

I'm sure you don't mean to deride me for giving you honest feedback. And yes, Franz: I AM saying that you might be better served by integrating a few distinctive, cool capabilities like calendar, so people can grok immediately how it can solve community-o...

Yup!...

...Drupal is one dreary slog. No argument here. And you know I'm a c5 fan, so let me make one last point. Most nonprofits can, of course, come up with $55. But my challenge has been to sell them on committing to Concrete in the first place. I show them...

I wish I wasn't saying this...

...but the new pricing in the marketplace is losing me. I've been eagerly awaiting the Calendar module; it's the one thing that could turn c5 into a real community-collaboration platform for me. I check this morning and, yay! It's finally here! Then...

okay...

First of all, let me tell you how awesome it is that the product's creator is actually engaging with me, rather than ignoring me or telling me to get lost. I'm looking for exactly two things: 1.) The ability to group and show pages according to var...

Frz, here's the thing...

...You're speaking from the standpoint of a commercial developer, using terms like "from a branding perspective" and "prominent links to the corporate site." You've earned the right to think that way, given your years of experience. But it's just one way ...

Blog capability in C5

With all due respect, Frz, I don't buy the idea that building a separate blogging site is an optimal solution. For one, that saddles the end user with not one but two interfaces to master, and the builder has twice as many installs to keep up to date. Sec...

Here's my solution...

Just to be clear, I thought I'd share the easy fix for missing ".php" resolutions like mine. To recap: right now my public site is being served up by Silverstripe. That CMS requires its own RewriteEngine code in the main .htaccess file. This makes C5 ...

Thanks!

I appreciate the code, dstew. It didn't work for me directly, but it pointed out my problem. I have two CMS installs on my testbed site--C5 and Silverstripe. The latter already has rewrite code in the .htaccess file. If I take it out, C5 works fine......

not a server issue...

...at least not for me. For what it's worth, I turned off "pretty URLS", thinking it might have something to do with pathname translations. Now it's only the homepage that doesn't load! And the old trick of hitting Refresh doesn't work, either. If...

Same problem--new under 5.20RC1

Last week, when I had 5.1 running in a testbed, there were never any problems with "Page Not Found". Deleted those files, did a clean install of 5.20RC1 in a new testbed, and shazam: I get "File Note Found" about half the time. It's frustrating, becau...
