I am a senior at Ohio University pursuing a Bachelor of Specialized Studies degree, which is a program of study the university offers to students to create their own set of curriculum in order to gain the desired skills they need for a specific career path after college. My degree consists of an area of concentration focusing on communication studies as well as computer science. While I have been at Ohio University I have gained leverage in the field of computer science through my job at Web Services. My belief is that technology can better the world when used in a logical way. My job at college has evolved into practical and engaging experience that has in turn resulted in learning many skills within the realm of computer science and web development. Since I enjoy communication and technology, web development is what I have always seen myself doing with my professional career after college.
Although school as well as my job have given me a thorough knowledge of many skills sets needed in web development, I plan to further my knowledge this summer by starting an internship at Ohio University's Web Services. By doing this, I will start an internship project where I will begin programming with Cold Fusion - gaining more experience with CommonSpot content management system's deeper intricacies and capabilities.
