Save Natural Areas is a political organization committed to the preservation of rivers, streams, natural areas, and wildlife habitat. Plazm came to us with the need for a design centric political website. The site would need to be updated with content frequently, which made Concrete's content management system an obvious choice. The content management system was put into use to update information on the progress of the bond measure. This allowed the organization to truly speak to their audience as the campaign matured, and gave the bond measure an obvious advantage.
uXcomm came to Concrete with a problem. They needed a front-end web application that was fast, powerful, and able to convey large amounts of information. This custom management interface was needed to handle large arrays of server hardware. The application was built using Java Server Pages (JSP), and Javascript, a client-side scripting language. Our application connected to uXcomm's Java applets using SXML. The application was built to use AJAX whenever possible.
The software development process took advantage of the Extreme Programming methodology. This methodology encourages adapting to changing requirements at any point during the project life cycle, and is a more realistic than attempting to define everything in detail at the beginning of a project. Extreme Programming makes fixes and future development easier, particularly on short timeline projects.
The uXcomm application posed a hard problem. The organization needed a very complex application in a short amount of time. The initial application was delivered in four weeks, and the complete working version with in ten weeks, making uXcomm very satisfied with Concrete.
In July of 2005 Concrete the Studio featured an abstract expressionist who painted while listening to multiple audio sources playing at once. The sounds he surrounded himself with would affect the final palette and feel of his work, which is a phenomenon known as Synesthesia.
Private gifts to the University of Oregon are managed through the University of Oregon Foundation (Foundation), a private, nonprofit corporation. The Foundation consists of a staff of several dozen and a Board of Trustees who require frequent communication and collaboration.
On February 28th 2006, Franz Maruna led a discussion for the Portland Development Commission on eCommerce. Franz Maruna is CEO of Concrete CMS, a local web application developer. The PDC is launching a new eCommerce program to encourage web industry growth in Portland Oregon.

First Thursday Open House Celebrates Art and Technology
Portland, OR, Feb 23rd 2005 Concrete CMS, a provider of web content management solutions invites the public to explore their new offices which feature a small art gallery called ‘Concrete the Studio'. Located in the Merchant's Hotel Building at 222 NW Davis in the heart of Old Town , Concrete the Studio will feature one artist each month as part of the First Thursday gallery walk.
After building the original music community in 2004, Indie911 turned to Concrete for a massive remodel in 2006.
Indie911.com is a successful online artist services network, which was able to expand into video, film, and the popular social networking success of sites like mySpace. The entire look and feel was redesigned from scratch, dramatically extending the options for personalization by the audience. Artists can now easily upload and sell their mp3's online, in addition to directly connecting with fans through the online community.

In very short order, the Oregon National Guard embarked upon the largest peacetime deployment in its history. Mobilized to Louisiana to assist in recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Oregon's 41st infantry brigade was reorganized to include citizen soldiers and airmen from Ohio, Massachusetts, Virginia, Oregon and the territory of Puerto Rico. Concrete CMS, a local Portland web agency, won its first Summit Creative Award a silver in the Business to Business Web Site category. The 11-year-old competition is specially designed to celebrate the creative accomplishments of smaller advertising, public relations, and multimedia agencies around the world. Over 20 countries were represented through this year's submissions.
