Graham Marine Construction, a leader in dock and marina building, marine pile driving as well as barge, crane-truck, tugboat and workboat services in British Columbia's Koonenay region, contracted Cochrane Creative to revamp their old static website and add a CMS.
Starting fresh with new HTML and CSS, and using the previous visual cues to build a new website, concrete5 was added into the backend. The site was flushed out with new content provided by Graham Marine Construction - which served as a learning tool for the Graham Marine team as they populated much of the content themselves.
This site served as a bit of a sandbox is that it was turned from a fixed width to a fully responsive site using CSS3, Jquery and CSS media queries. The right-sidebar wraps below the main content under 768 pixels for tablets and mobile devices, and the venerable Tiny Nav takes over the dynamically generated Auto-Nav block from the larger desktop nav that includes css-generated drop downs.
The site was completed with the use of one one page-type: a right-hand sidebar. Fonts are provided via Typekit - Freight Sans in this case - a very comtemporary, but obviously workman-like typeface proved to fit the visual tone.
Further enhancements are being picked away at over time by the Graham Marine team as they get to know concrete5. Client feedback has been overwhelmingly positive for all the site's attributes.
