Built for the City of Edmonton as part of the Corner Stores Program Pilot in 2015, this is one of three location based websites for the pilot that helps to showcase local merchants and increase their marketing reach.
The program had 29 business owners, multiple landlords, City of Edmonton staff, and partner Tooq Inc involved all with a focus on re-invigorating three neighbourhoods in this Canadian city. In conjunction with contrsuction, infrastructure, and streetscape improvements, the program seeks to refresh older neighbourhood shopping zones.
Ritchie is the largest of the three projects with four corners of a key intersection under-going massive changes. Greg Zeschuk of Bioware fame is creating the Ritchie Market project which is a new build bringing a brew pub, cycle shop, coffee shop, and butcher shop to the area. Two other commercial corners are seeing major renovations and the fourth corner is to be a mix of parking and a small park.
The other sites include newtoncentre.ca and elmwoodcentre.ca. All three sites were built on the Concrete5.7 platform.
