504 Gateway Time-out

I faced the error "504 Gateway Time-out" by installing concret5 v5.7.5.7 on a fresh installed Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS‬ dedicated Server. Running a fresh concret5 Installation (no upgrade action). The Installation started fine and after some minutes this error message happened.

What can be the root cause?

Additional information:

The installation fails at "installing dashboard" (see attachment).
But if I install v5.7.3.1 (from my plesk12.5 GUI) that works, but upgrades after fails as well. So what is wrong with the installation code that the installation versions 5.7.x behaving different? This should not be and a timeout should never happen.
How looks the testing invironment from the concrete5 coding team, that it works their?
Can you provide details about your System and configuration?

Now I did it with running this way:

PHP setting: max_execution_time = 600s (I wanted to provide all time the installation need)

and it worked, because the longest execution was at 228s.
