Can't edit my page elements

Running the Fruitful theme on 5.7.3.1 and having problems editing the home page. The main header slider won't go into edit mode. Other areas allow me to edit, but then don't register the edits on save. The main slider will sometimes lose all of its content. It seems to be a home page issue. Able to edit other pages.
Is no one paying attention to 5.7 theme issues?

Have you checked the Fruitful theme support section to see if other users are having the same issue?
When did the problem start (the timeline)?
- right after install
- after performing a certain action
- etc.
Do you have screenshots of the problems?
Do you have a link to the site?
Have you made edits to the theme HTML, CSS, or JS?
What other blocks are you using on the site?
Do you have any console errors while logged out, logged in, and in edit mode?

It started a few days after installing the theme, after several edits refining the content in the feature block at the top of the page. Now when I try to edit the element with the rotating headlines and images at the top of the page nothing happens (spinning ball goes back to pointer after a few seconds). I can edit other elements on the page.
I'm just using the blocks that come with 5.7 and the theme. Haven't meddled with any of the HTML, CSS, etc for the site. It worked for a little while then stopped. I've tried going back to previous versions to no avail.
Will check on error messages. I don't think there were any.

I gave in and deleted the block and started over. So far the page is working.
