File manager completely blank in 5.7.3.1

When I'm visiting Dashboard's File Manager, I can not see anything else than on the left page title (File Manager) and on the right (upload etc.). But in the file list there is no files any more! I have tested it on two 5.7.3.1 sites (one living and published, one local on MAMP server).using Safari, Firefox and Chrome. You see the situation on the screen shot.

I have altered languages, changed themes, cleaned cache, looked for allowed file types etc. but nothing seems to help. The only change I have done was to add .zip as accepted file type (so that zip files could be distributed from those C5 sites). If I remove zip from the list, it does not help either.

When I'm editing a page and want to add a picture or something else, I can see all files and can choose picture or so, as you can see from another screen shot.

Both sites are freshly built on 5.7.3.1 and functioning other wise perfectly in four languages.

The only practical problem is that I can not remove any files, that are no more in use. But the bigger problem is this mental problem: are there lying some fundamental problems on 5.7.3.1?

Am I the only one with this kind of problems?

All right, so nobody else has this problem?

But how to manage now files, when the file list is blank? I may want to delete some older versions of images or other files, so that I couldn't use the old versions.

Is it safe to delete files here after searching them: /application/files an then try to edit the database using eg. phpMyAdmin?

I made also this test: I copied the c5 database and the vital files from concrete setup and installed the copy on a fresh site. But the file manager is blank also there.

Were you ever able to figure this out?

No, suddenly it works.
I assume that there was a problem with my .htaccess.
After i removed my htaccess (this was for accessing the website)
and deinstalling the CMS it worked.

Cheers

Did you try to upgrade to 5.7.4.2? There were a lot of bugfixes in between.
