How to update PHP version 5.5 to PHP version 7.0?

Hi!

I got the following message from my website hosting company:

The PHP script language is the motor behind many dynamic websites, and your websites are among those using PHP. Unfortunately, the PHP community has ceased providing security updates for your PHP version 5.5 as of July 2016. To protect your websites, our developers have already taken over this security support and automatically continued it for your PHP version. The 6-month introductory phase for this security support ends on 1/10/2017. After this point, you will be charged $7.19 per month for 1&1 PHP Extended Support.

Any help??

Another option is - To update your websites to a current PHP version, e.g. PHP 7.0. Many tests have shown that PHP 7.0 websites are up to 50% faster.

You can change your PHP version in your 1&1 account. Here's how:

People have reported limited success using php 7 with c5.7. If you have issues, try php 5.6.

If your host provides CPanel, you can usually change php version therein.
