Redactor - Add target=blank

While editing and adding a pdf link, there is no "Open in new tab" option...instead there is a "Open in Lightbox"....is there anyway of having this basic feature to "open in new tab" instead of adding it manually...which my client won't be able nor should be required to do?

Do I have to write code for something so basic?

yes, you're right. Thankfully, this option has been included in concrete5 5.7.4:
