Why are auto-updates always so late?

I know perfectly well how to manually update, but I'd like some insight as to why updates usually take so long to become available to auto-update?

Generally this isn't a big deal, but with 5.7 changing so much, updates can be more important.

Why isn't the auto-update posted when the download is posted?

This is ridiculous. 5.7.5.9 was released on July 25, and it's now September 7.

Is it really not available under "check for updates" yet???

5.7.5.9 is now available through the remote updater. Typically, we wait a week to ensure maximum stability for a release prior to it entering the remote updater, but we missed this one.
