Would be great to be able to make any block area global or site wide.

Maybe it's a elemental Template thing rather than Concrete but I am not using a single Header or Footer area because they are fixed width, uneven size or elevation etc.

The Clipboard is a beautiful thing though for quickly slamming all the same stuff on each page.

Would help if I knew where the duplicate pages hide that are made with the version tool :(

You can of course make your own page template and create global area's where ever you like. See the developer docs how to make them.
Or use stacks to group blocks together and reuse them only on the pages where you want them.

Pages are generated on the fly. If you want an older version, just go to the page and look at versions.
Look at the sitemap to see where all the pages are. maybe in drafts

Okay thank you. I did finally find the duplicate pages. I was making duplicates instead of New Page in version tool :(

I am going to learn more about the back end stuff as time allows, trying to figure out where to start. Just want to make edits to existing templates etc, not looking to become a developer, I do other stuff.

Thank you again.
