Approval Process

Hi within the approval process is it possible for instance if a editor makes changes to a page that an email could be sent to the administrator letting them know there is changes to approve on the system?

with some dinkin around in the code you could set this up, but no its not an option built into the core..

You can see the state of any pending approvals from the dashboard sitemap however (check the color of the box next to the page name)

I could see us adding a field to the sitewide settings that would send an alert on any page edit to a email address, I'm afraid it might both slow down the system and also quickly become ignored by the person who was getting the emails..

Does anyone else want this?

Just wanted to send this out before people started looking for something that wasn't there...

that colored box that Franz mentions...that's from an earlier version of the concrete sitemap... we don't have it in the concrete5 dashboard. It would be useful to bring back...just thinking about the best way to display that information.

I could see that being useful...I could also see bringing that into the dashboard sitemap search as well (show me pages w/pending approvals)..

also the ability to configure some kind of notification on page updates would be nice. You could roll this yourself with information described here

http://www.concrete5.org/help/building_with_concrete5/developers/mv...

But it wouldn't be trivial or really that extendable..

I'd like to revive this thread: Andy's suggestion of the re-introducing of the "color coding" or (better, from my perspective) adding the "site map search" that shows "pending" pages would be a huge benefit. Particularly for larger clients with many content contributors and a handful (or less) of approvers/publishers. I'm not sure what the next priority is, but, this would be a HUGE benefit for many.
