Auto Nav question

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi Guys

I have used the auto nav on a site but would like it to display a page and its subpages.

I have a section called 'FAQs' which contains subpages for each category. At the moment the auto nav only seems to display the sub pages under FAQ but I would also like it to display the main FAQ page.

For example at the moment I can display the following sup pages:

- Turbine FAQ
- Solar FAQ
- Heat Pump FAQ

But I would like the auto nav display these and the FAQ intro page (top level page):

FAQ Into
- Turbine FAQ
- Solar FAQ
- Heat Pump FAQ

Can this be done?

The only other way that I can think of would be to add an additional page between your main faq page and it's sub pages. Then select "underneath page" and choose that top one, and be sure to show it's children.

Or you could you just add an html block in front of the page list that states the main page.

Has to be a page list I think.

I have a site that shows the parent page and its sub pages using it.

I have several page links in my navigation bar and they appear jumbled in most of the pages. How do I go about getting them be orderly? I tried moving them under other pages in the site map, but this just hides the pages I moved in the nav bar and there is no way to locate them.

I want it set up so that when they select one page from the nav bar that it will go to that page and then show the pages I have moved under that page in the nav bar of that page.

Help!

I have the same problem - there used to be "Include selected page as top node in list" option in AutoNav, but for some reason it has disappeared.

What is even more strange - it "autmoagically" works when the page is the homepage - than it is included in the list.

It is a pity that there is no easy way to do such a basic thing - I wonder how people can do international pages, where you have several homes as subpage of the basic home and you need to use AutoNav

It makes it more frustrating when the documentation tells you all you have to do is check the "Include selected page as top node in list" which no longer exists

Will be following this forum topic - I'd also like to know where the option "include selected page as top node in a list" is gone.

I have the same problem. I have a portal as my home page with a bunch of mini-sites below. I want to auto-nave to include the root of each mini-site but not the home page.

Make this a template for your auto nav and it should show the parent page too.

Many thanks for sharing this code! I had never created a custom template before, but it works like a charm.
