Discount code not working

I found my discount codes on the dashboard but when I go through the process to apply it, it's not working. I don't know where to go to check the properties (I am stumbling through the dashboard) how to I fix this?

The rest of the signup is working, people can pay with a card it's not allowing the code to go through.

Hello,

it is difficult to help you because it is not totally clear what you are referring to. Are you talking about your account here on concrete5.org or are you talking about your website?

If it's your website, are you using an E-commerce platform? Which one?

If you could make it a little more specific I am sure you will get answers.

Hi, It's on my website. I'm not sure which ecommerce was installed. There is paypal set up, and I also see vivid store in developer tools, but I'm unsure which of these the discount is attached to, or how to access it.

It was working before and then it stopped working. I also get an error in another report (this may or may not be related)

Application\Controller\SinglePage\Dashboard

when I find the page for the discount codes, it only shows me what the codes are. I can add more codes, but they still don't apply in the signup process.

OK I see what the problem is.

I am sorry to say that Vivid store is totally abandoned and is not working properly.

The eCommerce add-on that is recommended is Community Store that you can find here:https://github.com/concrete5-community-store/community_store...

As it is not a marketplace package, you might need some help to install it.

Hopefully, your catalog of products is not too big but you'll have to recreate your store.

On the bright side, Community Store is also totally free, it works flawlessly, and support is above and beyond.

When I go through the process to sign up and pay, it goes through paypal and charges the customer, and the API is working properly, it's only when I apply the discount code?
So the product is set up, yes?

according to your description yes the product seems set-up properly. You can also check in your sales report to make sure the sale goes through.

I do not know how Vivid Store sets discounts. It could be lowering the price before sending a payment request to Paypal or maybe the discount is also sent to Paypal.

My point was if anything is not working properly with Vivid Store, you are not going to get any help from the developer and the problem is not going to get fixed. So you should really consider using something that really works.

I don't think its going through vivid store. I don't see any products set up there. But when a customer goes through the process to sign up and pay, they enter their card and the card charges.
The problem is when the customer enters the code, and is still prompted to pay.
Is it possible that the discount code in in Paypal and not this vivid store?

I am not sure, to be honest. I'd have to see how it is setup.

Where do you create the discount code? Do you create it in Vivid Store? Or through a different interface?

I'm not sure because I didn't set it up. I don't understand what the discount code is attached to.
This is what I am able to see.

From that screenshot, it is not Vivid Store, it is a totally different tool and it is not one from the marketplace. It looks like someone installed a custom tool on your website. You should ask whoever installed that tool to have a look if possible.

You're welcome. Feel free to message me if things don't get fixed.

I don't have access to the person created this website and there wasn't any documentation left on how to apply or set the discount.

Could be something built with a forms package. Perhaps post the packages and overrides part of your environment. (Search for 'Environment' in the dashboard).

You might have to hire someone to fix the problem for you. Have you thought of posting to the job board?
It's here:https://www.concrete5.org/community/jobs...

In the meantime, I could have a quick look if you want, to at least give you an idea of what's happening.
