Form data to sql

Is it possible to create a form where the data is exported to Mysql? I know it can be exported to an excel file and then merged, but can this step be automated by skipping the excel step? Thanks for any help.
actually the form block does store your data in mysql. its exporting it to excel from the dashboard when you ask it to.
I thought that might be the case. So I'm guessing that I can choose my own database for the data to be stored in?
