How to pressent Add-on choices to customers

I have a customer who is not sure what they want in a particular product category. How do you review the available options without overwhelming them with options?
I want a way to show my customer a few options for a particular add-on category. Review the options. Then, select one and buy it and put the others away.
I don't think the Marketplace is a good place to "shop with a client." -For several reasons. What do others think?

Then when the client say wants to extend their site and add a blog they request it and you purchase it....
At first I would keep it simple. Maybe have bundled categories.
