Icons that you need

Hi, we love Concrete5 and we are planning to contribute to the effort of making it even better. What we do best is icons. But instead of just guessing what might or might not be needed, we would like to ask you, concrete5 developers, what kind of icons (topics, styles) would help you build beautiful themes for Concrete5?

alright guys, it looks like Concrete5 theme designers aren't really interested in icons to integrate into their themes. At least we haven't got any replies in this thread.

Another problem that I can see is that there is no real place in the marketplace section where we could share our free icons with Concrete5 users. Any suggestions on how to handle that?

Well. I think theme icon packs would be great (even if it was only for the edit bar and admin).

You could always put them on sourceforge.

If you look at how the bootstrap icons are added to pages in c5.6, you could probably create a package that loaded some javascript on-start and then showed the icons when an element had a specific tag/class. Perhaps constraining it to an editor adding a container class to a block design.

eg. a block (or area or page) is given the class banzai-tokyo. Then any element with class banzai-twitter-knitted banzai-left would have the icon inserted to the background and a padding left to make room for it.

I am not familiar with the way bootstrap icons are added to C5 pages. Could you develop on that, please?

See

I think the rest of it is clever css, but there may be some jquery involved.

All c5 have done is include this in c5 stylesheets.

My guess is that you could have an addon that pulls in a stylesheet that provides other icons that use a similar mechanism.

You would probably want it to be self contained rather than piggy backing on top of bootstrap code.

Personally I have been thinking about making a series of c5 graphics and desktop backgrounds. Only issue is working from a 40x40 icon doesn't translate that well and I have been trying to find time to make a vector or dig up a vector of it if one exists. I was going to auto vector one but it will never be the same as handmade. If you were inclined to make one I know I for one would be grateful and probably a few others as well.

I added a screenshot of one of the tests I did without a vector just in case anyone wanted a peek.
