If I update my theme, will I lose all my customization's?

I have searched the forums and can't seem to locate any info relating to this question.
The theme that I am using has an update available. If I update my theme, will I lose all my customization's that I currently have in place?

as long as any direct modifications made to any files was done properly, placing them in the outer file structure appropriately you shouldn't have any worry. If all you've done is build your site and haven't made any direct modifications you'll be OK as well.

Sorry for my lack of understanding, but could you explain to me what you mean by 'outer file structure'.

By the sounds of it, you haven't. If you simply installed your theme and played around and made your site, never making any changes to any "core" .php files, feel free to update your theme. Reason I ask about having made any modifications being if they were not made in the correct place, updating your theme *could* overwrite modifications you had made directly within .php files for the theme.
