Problems with a whale slider

Soooo.
hello Concrete5 community,
I am sure this is a really easy topic for people who know what they are doing with Concret5. But I'm not one of them :-).
I am having issues with getting a whale slider to work. All I get is a kind of checkerboard effect. I've looked for hidden slides, or images, and can't find anything.
It was working before, but now not so much.
any hints and tips to get me back on track? :-)
