Rescan Images Keeps Original Proportions - 8.2.1

Just installed 8.2.1 and find that when I upload and/or rescan images they keep their original proportions where thumbnails have constrained width AND height.

Rescan used to deliver the correct thumbnail width & height image by giving you a cropped out piece of the image.

Any ideas?

OK, so I just realised the new setting that enables you to choose whether thumbnails are sized proportionally or not.
