Website Builder Package for 5.7

Permalink
One thing I want to be able to do is create a website builder SAAS (software as a service), using Concrete5 as the platform (but whitelabel with my own brand).

Currently, there is no package available that offers an automated solution. These are the features that I would like to see:

- Custom domain (ex: customer.sitebuilder.net)
- Packages with various limitations, such as limited number of pages, websites, etc.
- Billing system with Paypal or Stripe

Wildcard domains should be used, which could be set up via Cpanel.

Has anyone done anything like this in 5.7? Thoughts?

Hi,
I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you but I have looked and tested similar automation but not using a subdomain.

I'd investigate using WHMCS to provide the automation for cpanel on signup and account creation. You can also use WHMCS to add other automation to the account creation process to help you with the C5 setup etc.

WHMCS has a number of payment options so Paypal and Stripe are not an issue.

As for limiting the number of pages that sounds like you'd need to override the core and do something like check the number of pages (approved / visible etc) and disallow page creation if a limit is reached.

Someone might chime in with a much better idea but I know WHMCS and cpanel work together well enough to achieve what you want (with a little work).

Hi PineCreativeLabs,

This sounds very similar to Portland Labs's SimpleSite. If this is what you had in mind, it will be very hard to deliver something of better quality, offering more features, and lower priced than what they are already doing.

That definitely is what I'm looking for. Is it available as an addon, though?

@PineCreativeLabs

I believe it is an in-house service offered by Portland Labs and not available as an add-on.
