Woohoo!

Pretty jazzed about these new forums. Gotta grab everyone from SourceForge later on tonight once DNS is sure to have propagated. Still, pretty cool nevertheless.

does that mean the forums on sourceforge will be closed? I think it would be nice if there's just one forum but there are a couple of users on sf right now which "shouldn't get forgotten"!

I don't think we actually can turn them off, but we'll continue to send new posters over here instead of answering stuff there. Our hope is that all the people who have been so helpful over on SF will quickly migrate here and start making profiles and posts on our community. In the big picture, there will be a searchable member directory, marketplace, and all other sorts of compelling reasons to do so.

it certainly looks nice but I'm having a few troubles to find the threads where someone wrote an answer I haven't seen..

It was much easier on sf.net, we just had two forums and whenever there was a new answer, the thread was "bold".

I'm monitoring everything - but even then when I try and come into the site from my email I find I occasionally lose my place.

I think the ideal of highlighting threads that are new to you or contain some new posts is a good one. We will attack this at the same point where we do something about our bugs/issues list (which is not staying in the forum.)

Very nice indeed... looking forwards to all other stuff u guys have lined up :) Would be a very cool feature for the forums to see who's online. That way you can see if someone is online which can give support or that you can easily leave and come back later.

just a question.... that avatar uploader is sweet. Will you guys also release it in the marketplace? would be nice.

I imagine we could be persuaded to dot that :)

We fully intend to take all this goodness around profiles and forums and pack em up into a purchasable app for c5. (the first) the infrastructure exists to handle this in c5 already, we just gotta spend some time making it bug free and doing things like..well .. getting code embedding right.. give us a couple of weeks, and you'll be able to buy a copy of all of this goodness.. we're thinking for $55
