allow registered users to add a group

Is it possible to allow any registered user to create/add a group without giving them access to other dashboard functions?

Yes I think that should be possible.

If you go to the sitemap and display the system pages you'll see a top level folder called "dashboard". Let those users you want to create new groups view this folder.

But don't forget, this will let them view all the sub pages (the whole dashboard) too as permissions are inherited. It takes a few clicks but you're not stuck here, just open all the subpages and revoke the permission you just granted for all pages except "/dashboard/users/add_group/"

One minor glitch...

I can't figure out how to remove the "News - Learn about your site and concrete5." link. (We don't want generic registered users messing around in there.) I looked in the sitemap under dashboard, but didn't see a page listed there. I also went to root/concrete/helpers/concrete/dashboard.php and removed the entire link from the code, but it's still displaying. I cleared the cache, logged out and back in again, still the same. Stubborn little **** won't go away!

would it be okay if you'd disable it completely?

Then check this:http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/developers/white-lab...

Disregard previous message. It was in our ISP's cache and just took a while to disappear. Good ole' Comcast causing trouble again. Sorry for confusion.
