Blog - Filtering blog list by category?

Hi all,
I have a left nav displaying the categories using the template "categories" that comes with the addon.
What I want is when someone clicks a category it loads the blog list but filters only by the category specified.
I need some help modifying the blog_list block to do this.
So for example, if I click on a category called "news" then it should go to blog/?category=News and only show the news items.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys,
First of all :-
I was traing to use the multiplay options of creating categories for each page, which was successful but after that I relased that fillter does work only for one category.
Do you know haw to handle with it?
Next question regards to may mistake - I canceled category attributes and I have no idea hav to create them back.
