Connecting phpBB and Concrete5

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I am trying to migrate a site I have been running for around five years now to concrete5.

On that site, I have a board using phpBB. I am not dependent on sticking to that system, but I need to transfer all users and all posts to whatever I use next.

To my knowledge, there is no "migration tool" for transferring phpBB databases to c5 discussion, so I feel I'm stuck with phpBB. Well, then.

Since I am planning to introduce a registered user area on my site and I don't wnat users to have to register more than once, I am wondering if there is a kind of "bridge" so users only need to log in once and I could manage my phpBB users through the c5 dashboard.

Does any of you have had a similar problem? What are your solutions? Any advice on how to tackle this?

I'd greatly appreciate your input! Many thanks in advance!

I'd like to do the same thing. I have a forum in phpBB that I would like to import into the C5 Forum module.

I'd also like to transfer the phpBB users over into C5 users.

Any ideas?

This seems to have been a popular question a couple of years ago, but I can't find any resolution or even much discussion since then. Did anyone ever come up with an integrator or bridge for phpBB? Does anyone know what happened to argvader and his "Bridge Theory" add-on, that seems to have been working back in '11 but is now not available? Anything else out there that works to integrate a phpBB forum with a c5 site?
