Custom CSS for global area does not work

Hi

I am not able to apply custom css to a block (autonav) in a global area.

Is that the way it should be or is this a bug in 5.7.4.1?

Hi ong,

Just to clarify, do you mean you cannot add a custom class to the block?

If you mean custom class, then double check that you are hitting enter after typing in the class. If you don't hit enter, the class you type in will clear.

Hi

yes, I mean adding. I choose "Design &.." from the menu of the block, but I can not click on custom setting (gear icon) NOR any other.
When I try to change the design of a stack itself (in Stacks menu) this works fine.

Hi

no, I mean something different (and I am using C5 5.7.4.2 by now - it still does not work).
I have created a screencast where I demonstrate the not-working of this feature (mp4, 190kb)

When I click on the icons nothing happens :-(

First I would switch to the Elemental theme to see if you still have the problem.

If the problem goes away, then you know it is a problem in your theme.

Hi Karl,

thanks for the tip - unfortunately it DID work with the elemental theme.
Any ideas how / what I need to fix? As "the other" things seem to work with my theme (own creation, a bootstrap3 css design and created an extra css file with "my" formatings) I am not sure what I did wrong.

It is likely a JavaScript issue.

Are you registering all the JavaScript used in your theme? This helps to prevent conflicts.

Hi Karl,

I will check that and keep you posted.
I can say already, that I did follow Andrews screencast on how to convert a HTML theme to a C5 (5.7) theme.

Thanks

Hi Karl,

the video helped me to get it going. Now it works. I was not able to include the bootstrap3 from the C5 itself, but provided the bootstrap I used to design the page.

Thank you for pointing this out.
