Files Manager - cannot upload files

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi,
I cannot upload any images (I get "Unable to copy file to storage directory" when using File Manager - please see attached screenshot).

I can upload files via FTP into the 'httpdocs/files/incoming/' directory but the Files Manger does not see them there.

I guess this is related to access rights but I am not sure how to go about it. I have tried to change permissions to 777 for the '..files/' folder, but that did not work for most subdirectories (which appear under 'www' ownership...).

I have read on some forums that people recommend turning off the PHP safe mode, but I use Plesk so I have no access to PHP.INI.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
thank you.

Hi eugen,

I experienced a similar problem uploading files to the file manager. Go into your dashboard> system & settings> file storage location. Check the apthing. Mine got all messed up and it didn't know where to save the files. Don't know your host but here is an example correct path -
/home/user/public_html/nac/files

Once I corrected the path , I was able to upload files again. Try it and I hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi,
thanks for your suggestion.

I have just had a look and they all seem fine (this is what I have under File Storage Locations:

Standard File Location -
Path: /srv/www/vhosts/ ... /httpdocs/files

Altenate Storage Directory -
Location Name: incoming
Path: /srv/www/vhosts/ ... /httpdocs/files/incoming

I have managed to work around it by transferring files via 'Upload Multiple' (while, strangely enough, 'Upload File' doesn't work).

I still believe it has something to do with access rights... I don't know...

I also can't create a Backup Databse; nothing is happening when I press "Run Backup"...
