Global Area stopped working after update to v8

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi

I recently updated c5 from v7 to v8.1. After the update I noticed that the navigation menu (auto nav) of my website was missing. When i try to put a block in the global area nothing happens. I did not change any settings or the theme files. What seems to cause this problem?

Thanks for any kind of help

Upcoming version 8.2 should fix this issue. You can try the release candidate that has just been published.

Hi, thanks for the input. I just updated to 8.2.0RC2 and it still doesn't work. I guess I'll have to wait for the full release. Hopefully it will solve the problem...

Go into the dashboard go to Pages & Themes -> Themes. Then click the Pages Templates button on your theme. Just make sure C5 still see all your templates. If C5 see's all your templates. Click on another theme you have and activate. Then go back to your theme and reactivate your theme.

Then go under system setting -> clear cache and click the clear cache button. Then clear the cache on your browser as well. Login back in to C5 and see if you can now add the auto nav block back to that area.

Hope this helps and was not too confusing.

Finally I found a solution. I just renamed the global area in the page template. After that it worked fine again.
