Have a drop down menu selection populate a search field

Hi,
I'm redesigning a site that has a drop down menu that is full of options that return results of all pages below it tagged with the matching term. I want to replicate this by using the search feature in Concrete5.
The drop down menu list is essentially prompts for the user to make more accurate searches.
Can a drop down menu be made that is full of pre-determined search terms, so that when one is selected it will populate the standard search block? Then the user can click the submit button on the search and the results will be returned as normal.
