Having layout issue with blog_entry

I've been trying to get my blog entries to look like the thumbnail - left column, main and right column - but just can't do it. I've tried making a new page using the name blog_page and the 3 column thumbnail.

All I get is the main with no columns. I have no idea what file to modify nor exactly how to modify the file. Once I know which file to modify I can change the code using the old trial and error process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a live url?
Composer blog (built-in) I assume. or Pro Blog?

What theme are you using?

Url ishttp://spa-success.com/index.php/blog/8-steps-great-spa/...

Originally I tried with the built in blog then tried simpleblog as well. Simple at least gives me 2 columns, but I prefer how the built handles the page listing.\

Theme is SuperMint

If I'm not mistaken what you will need to do is create new page types for the different layouts. blog_entry.php is by default, either left sidebar or right sidebar. you would need to create new files and then install them through the dashboard. You should be able to take a look at left_sidebar.php and right_sidebar.php to see how to structure your new blog page types. You dont want to put the new files inside your theme. Be sure to place them in your root/page_types folder to prevent future updates to the theme from overwriting your modifications.

Thanks enil:

I can't seem to get it to work so I'll just use another layout. I'm spending too much time on this.
