How to set page not visable on home page but can be accessed by public if they have the link

I am new to concrete5 so please bear with me on this question. I am trying to set a page that is not shown to the public on the home page but if they have the link they will be directed to that particular page. I have set up the new page and the text I need is already there. Thank you.

I assume you mean in the navigation?

If you go to the page you don't want in the navigation, then under the edit button in the upper left if you hover you'll see a "Properties" option. Then go into "Custom Attributes" select the "Exclude From Nav" option then (scroll back up) check the box in the right panel so that "yes" is checked.

Depending on what you have on that page, you may want to consider having people register as users to your site and allowing access to that page to registered users only.

This would allow you to:
1. Know who is going to that particular page.
2. If you are only providing the link to certain people, it would keep them from sharing the link with other people who you might not want to see that particular page.
3. Opens up the gates a bit to interact more with your customer by giving you the ability to add them to certain groups etc.
4. By doing this, you can create multiple pages available to your registered users without having to resend new links.

This can all be done with the simple permissions of Concrete5. If you want to get a bit more intricate with who can access what on your site, you can always enable the "Advanced Permission" feature of Concrete5.
