htaccess file creation on install

Is the .htaccess file automatically created on install on c5?

If you use pretty urls (dashboard/system/seo/urls) concrete5 (at least 8) will try to create or edit your .htaccess file. If that is not possible concrete5 will tell you what to add into the .htaccess file.
