Import & export content.

I'm wondering if there is a specific process to import content into concrete5.
I have seen the package that enables XML export - is that the only option to import?

Is the CIF5 format documented?

Should the 'starting point' method be used instead? Is this still relevant in concrete 5.7?

I have several hundred pages to create & would like to avoid as much manual entry as possible. The data is currently in MySQL it can be exported & reformatted etc.

Hi ndroid,

Here are some links on the topic for you:

"The export tools built into the 5.7 migration tool also replace the Sample Content Generator, which add-on and theme developers can use to generate sample content. Unlike the Sample Content Generator add-on, the migration tool can build XML exports of just portions of your site, making it much easier to work with than the old add-on."

Thanks, I'll forget about the older sample content generator.

I have been trying the export feature & I can't seem to get it to export the image files. Several pages have images within blocks or referenced in the text. The export always results in…
"No referenced files found."

It could be my error, I'm assuming exporting pages would find the files to export as mentioned in the video. I'm not sure this matters yet, I need to fit my data to the format & try some imports.

Do you know if this supports the data from 'non core' packages? I have the vivid_store enabled & was hoping to export/import many products, many of the fields on the product pages are missing in the export. It makes it tough to work out how the data needs to formatted to import (assuming it is possible).

Does this only import the 'visible content', products have extra data that isn't always shown?

@ndroid

I am not sure if the exporter handles package data.
