Including Sample Contents

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to add sample contents to a custom theme I'm working on. I don't want a client to have a blank template when installing a theme.
I'm assuming there's going to be content.xml involved or something but would like how to go about doing this.

It looks like using the Sample Content Generator is the suggested way to do it
