Is it safe to upgrade server to MariaDB 10.3?

My server is running MySQL 5.7, is it safe to just upgrade towards MariaDB 10.3 for C5.8.5+ installations?
I cannot go back after I change it.

My dev system runs MariaDB 10.3 with no issues. Generally, latest MariaDB is drop-in compatible with MySQL.

I upgraded my local dev system from MySQL to MariaDB 10.4.11.
It was a matter of exporting my databases from MySQL using phpMyAdmin and importing them into MariaDB. keeping the database table names the same as they were in MySQL.
No problems at all...
