Is it possible to install C5 in already made sites?

Hey guys,

Is that possible? I mean, I already have a website where I would like to add fields to edit, but I don´t know if it is possible or if it is completely necessary to use the templates forms.

short answer: no.

long answer:
well, you could make templates that included most of your site's content as static content inside the template, and still define some editable areas...
There is no simple "ingest my site into c5" button you can press somewhere to pull an existing site into c5 and go have a beer.

we've discussed doing an "import wordpress" tool that would look at a blog, and bring all the pages/posts into the site map so you could move em around as you please... You'd still probably have to do a lot of template and navigation work.

a long time ago we built something calledhttp://editapage.com You might check that out.
We don't really maintain it, but the idea was just what you're saying.. "I don't want to have the CMS manage navigations and whatnot, i just need to give a client a WYSIWYG editor in a few specific spots on their site. EditAPage.com does that reasonably well and it's also fully open source.

Thanks for your answer frz! In fact it was almost like putting a little code and go have a beer. It was easy to edit my the website I had and define editable areas :) The site is working now with C5 active, atm playing around with it but I´m sure I´ll feel comfortable with the whole system in a few days.

Haven´t tried editapage.com but i´ll give it a go too for a fast approach.

Right now all i need is for an iframe to hold the content..
