Means of optimizing/compressing images automatically on upload?

I'm trying to raise the Google PageSpeed Insights score for a client, and image optimization is one of the items.
They're a little concerned about (a) the existing images in their media library and (b) the workflow to optimize new images.
I was hoping that maybe there was something that could be added to their Concrete5 site that would handle this for them.
