Page List block only shows External Link items to super user?

Does anybody know why this might be happening? I can't for the life of me figure it out. Maybe it should have been painfully obvious to me that a "page list" will only actual pages, but I swear this block displayed external links before. Moreover, it's frustrating me that those link items show up in the block when I (super user) am logged in. Other users and guests are unable to see the block populated.

Any help would be SUPREMELY appreciated. I am supposed to demo the new site to our office tomorrow and this would really help the project look credible.

As a side note, RSS feed generated from the page list also shows up OK for me (logged in as super user), but not as a guest or other user.

Any ideas? Don't know if it's worth mentioning, but the only thing that even hinted at this problem was the release notes for 5.0.0RC1 which stated one of the bugfixes as follows:

"Fixing the creation/deletion of external links when not logged in as super user"

I can certainly create and delete the links, but they just don't show in the page list block unless logged in SU.
