Paypal Advanced

Anyone ever had any experience using the "Advanced" level of Paypal for check out using the eCommerce add-on?

The Pro plugin, I am told by PayPal, won't work. The Standard won't either. Client doesn't want to pony up the $30/month for the Pro version.

What to do?

Thanks in advance eCommerce Wizards! I know you have the solution...

We use the paypal payment option for the eCommerce addon. It was pretty simple to setup and it works.

Not sure what your project demands are but, the basic paypal fits the needs of the many very easy. There is no need for ssl(most cases) and your site never needs to store or send credit card information, witch is a security plus.

Well, my client doesn't want to use the Standard version because of the not-so-awesome interface. Plus, I believe standard only allows for customers to pay using a Paypal account. We want the customers to have the option of paying with a credit card.

The Pro version is nice, but comes at a high monthly cost.

They'd really like the Advanced (middle of the road version). Evidently, this will take the customer to a Paypal site to process payment via PP or the customer's credit card. This page can be styled (somewhat) to match our site.

Trouble is, I don't know how to set up the payment section of the eCommerce add-on to use this Advanced level of Paypal.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The basic PayPal integration does in fact allow for credit/debit card payments without a PayPal account!

I see what you mean enill.

However, it is very cryptic to the customer. The way that the Paypal interface is set up it appears that one must have a PayPal account to pay. In fine print (almost) there is a link for those who do not have a PayPal account. Clicking on that allows one to pay by credit card. That is true. But it is not obvious.

As it stands, this is not a satisfactory solution (to my client).

So, is it true that the only way we can set up eCommerce payment through PayPal is to either use the Standard or the Pro PayPal status?

That is a major bummer if so.

Is there anyone from the development team who can help with this?
