Pretty URL's suddenly and unexplicably stopped working

I've inherited a concrete5 site and yesterday the pretty URL's simply stopped resolving. The site has a static nav and the url's are hard coded like example.com/about. This has worked fine since I've had the site but after yesterday all these links aren't working.

Nothing has changed with the concrete5 install/files. Possibly something changed on the hosting account (go daddy) but the client claims to have received no notice of any changes.

So - does anyone have any advice on this? I've seen a lot of posts about not getting the pretty url's to work, but never that they suddenly stopped working.

The htaccess file was updated with the <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> code. Not sure how to troubleshoot this

I have a couple clients that use Godaddy hosting (which is less than ideal for hosting Concrete), and they have had a similar problem.

Here is a solution on how to get this resolved:

Or, you can also check out this discussion thread here:

Hope that helps.

Thanks for this - I'll give it a try and post back here if it works.
