relative image paths

Ok I looked for the answer before posting.
When I add an image to a block, all is fine until I exit edit mode and the image does not appear.
The images that are added through the standard interface work when signed into the dashboard. The page source reveals the images are using a relative path "../" and that is not working. I am looking where to change that to "/" or use absolute pathing.
Help?

Are you adding the images via the C5 file manager ?
Yes, I am going through the standard file manager editing a block and adding an image from there. The relative path works great in edit mode but not when I close edit mode, they break.
