replace_link_with_first_in_nav on secondary sub page

Hi
will try and explain this best I can!!!
I have used 'replace_link_with_first_in_nav' when linking a page to its child ie
Item 1
-Item 1.2
which works fine but i'm currently doing a site that has the following structure:
Products
-Laser Optics
--Laser Optics 1
I want the Laser Optics link to go directly to the Laser Optics 1 page but guess as the parent page is Products its causing it not to work. Is there an different attribute I can add to Laser Optics to make it link to Laser Optics 1?
