Search doesn't work when searching for two words

When I search for one word or exact string, search finds the page, but when I search for two words not next to each other, it doesn't find the page. I've just re-indexed and set up white/black list to include everything. I tried Extended Search add-on and the results are the same. I saw that this was a problem in earlier versions, but was fixed.

Any ideas on this? I'm running the latest version of Concrete5. I checked the C5Magic demo website and it has the same problem.

Hi!

Concrete5 is only searching the database for a string.
There is no 'and', 'or' option available in the search.
Compared with google search standard is 'or'.
Google and requires + sign before each word.

Kind Regards

My site has a lot of content and forums and it isn't going to work to only allow search for an exact match. Does anyone have any suggestions? I haven't found an add-on that is supported in the current version that supports multiple keywords. Google Custom Search that displays their ads isn't an option and it sounds like there are other issues with it in Concrete5.

From reading forum posts, it looked like multiple keyword searches worked in older versions such as 5.4.0.5. Will it work in 5.7?

Once you can check Extended Search add-on. It probably also works in current version.
Please follow below link

Extended Search does work with the current version, but it also only searches for exact string. I also see that Google Custom Search won't index Concrete5 pages because the content blocks are dynamic with the data stored in the database. I'd happily pay the $100 a year for the Google Site Search if it would index Concrete5 pages, but I don't see anything that tells me it works any differently than the free version.

I'll have more than 100 pages and a lot of forums, so lack of a true web search is totally a show stopper. My fault for not testing more thoroughly. I just assumed... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi oakhill,

We have extend C5s built in search to make it more user friendly. Some of what we have done is very specific to us though. You can see it athttp://www.isittobe.com. If you are interested I'm sure we could work out how to share the development we have done.

Also check out something like swiftype.com. It almost did what we wanted but not quite.

Thanks very much for your offer. Your search page is very nice. The main issue I have is that the C5 search only returns search results for an exact match. When you search for two words, it doesn't return pages where the two words aren't next to each other. It looks like your site works like this, also. When I search for "Truthful and Sound", I get Chapter 8:9, but when I search for "Truthful Sound", I don't get any matches.

I'm getting this issue related to the ecommerce (concrete 5.6) addon!

How can I make my search look at multiple words? Any ideas?
