what is .DS_store file?

I was downloaded and seen.
There are a lot of files of the name of .DS_store in c5.1.0a1.zip.
May I delete this file?

no worries, you can delete those files
it's a fingerprint, meaning that concrete folks are using mac OS

Stupid OS X. We strip those files out in our official releases (or, ahem, we should be) but that build was a quick and dirty one of our dev branch.

There is one in 5.6.1.2 as well. ;-)
