.htaccess code for IXWebhosting

Permalink
Hi there,
I have built my C5 in my PC and I have uploaded it to my host provider IXWebhosting. My index folder is not domain.com , but domain.com/web.
I only got to work the homepage, but obviously all links get an error "No input file specified."

I have come across several rewrite rules for .htaccess but I couldn't solve the problem (I am not a programmer).

Does anybody have C5 installed in IXWebhosting with index in a subfolder like me? Could you tell me what configuration do I need?

Thanks!

V.

This is how close I got... My .htaccess looks like this

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /web/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}/index.html !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}/index.php !-f
RewriteRule . index.php [L]
</IfModule>

Now the links work, but when I go HOME, I get domain.com/web INDEX OF WEB, and the heading doesn't work in some pages.

not sure you need rewrite Base

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L]

i also goggled and found this
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4844069/htaccess-rewritebase...

p.s. I recently moved one of my sites from ixwebhosting because it was a nightmare to workwith

Hi Sheldon, thank you for your reply...

What bothers me of IXWebhosting, mainly, is that they don't support SSH and git... FTP transfers are a nightmare...

Which host did you choose?

Because of tight budgets I usually use Bluehost.(host gator is good too - hub web hosting has a rep on these forms that answers questions from time to time 'might want to look at them too' )

I usually stay away from cheap vps solutions that cost the same because I like using managed servers

right now
Godaddy,
IXwebhosting
are on my run away from list. Bluehost used to be on this list just fyi.
(Shared hosting is really a hit or miss)

Thank you Sheldon.
I was thinking on BlueHost too, but I found a coupon for Arvix (which fit my needs) and it was half the price than BlueHost.
All the best,

You should actually look at your BASE_URL and DIR_URL. They are found in config/site.php.

This isn't a .htaccess issue (that is used primarily to enable pretty URLS).

Thank you ThemeGuru,

In my site.php file I only have the database loggin info.
Should i add something like this?

define('BASE_URL', '/domain.com/web/');
define('DIR_URL', 'domain.com');
