5.3.1.1 installation issue - Fatal error

Hi,

Am trying to install 5.3.1.1 on shared hosting which appears to meet all the requirement to run C5.

On running the installer, I get the following error on /index.php/install/-/configure:

Fatal error: Call to a member function add() on a non-object in /home/[server paths here]/user/htdocs/concrete/models/collection.php on line 418

The database tables have been created.

I can't rerun the installer. index.php now delivers a blank page. Have tried dumping the files, reuploading and reinstalling, but to no avail.

Any suggestions anyone?

Thanks v much.

In order to do a fresh install you would need to drop the tables from the DB as well. I cannot say I know what would be causing the issue, make sure you set permissions as needed before running installation. I have installed on numerous shared environment's without issue.

Thanks for this Plant.
I dropped the tables and tried again - but without success.
Then I downloaded the 5.3.1.1 zip file again (maybe a problem with my initial download) and uploaded this directly to the server.
Once the zip was on the server I used the command line to unzip (previously I had unzipped on my desktop and then FTPed the gazillion files together).
Then I set permissions via my FTP client (FireFTP in my case) ensuring that the mode was set to Automatic.
And Hey! Mr Presto it works.
So - possibly a dodgy/corrupted zip download/unzip/FTP?
Hope this helps someone ;)
