Cannot upload *.ico files - "UPLOAD FAILED - Could not load image from string"

I have tried many times to upload an *.ico for the Favicon bookmark, keep getting the error "UPLOAD FAILED - Could not load image from string".
I have tried all the different upload methods from within the Concrete 5.7.4.2 installation and keep getting the same error. I have also tried different browsers; Opera shows no file upload, IE10 shows the file uploaded with 0 bytes.and it's listed twice.

Alright really weird. I uploaded the ico picture, it gave me the error. But if I refresh the page I can then select the 0 kb file and it loads the picture???
I followed your experience;
- uploaded
- error message
- no image shown
- refreshed, image then listed as 0 bytes
- went to Bookmarks and loaded Favicon
- it worked!
I tried another icon program to see if the icon format was the issue but still had the same problem.

I saw this the other day, but it came down to the actual .ico file itself for some reason. Files from the program I use (Icon Slate) work fine, but some from an online ico generator dont.
Perhaps try generating the .ico file using a different process.
