General problems, terminology

OK, I have ALL these great options for use in customizing my site from a starting point. However, I am to understand all the LINGO, but I don't and I am having problems finding detail description and answers.
Example: Trying to edit Slick Slider, would like one photo, fade to the next photo, seems simple to change, but my changes have KILLED my Slick Slider. Where can I find a 5.7 tutorial about things?
I change background colors, grid shows the change, but when published, it is not. Where is a tutorial for something like this?
Right when I think I am progressing forward, oops its going backwards. I thank you for your time and consideration in handling this matter.
could someone point me in the correct direction? ver 5.7
thanks

Hi DawHart,

It sounds like you are using a custom theme. Theme specific information will be provided by the theme developer.

With your mention of Slick Slider, I am taking a guess that you are using the Fundamental theme. If so, there is documentation for what you are asking about.

Thank you for the reply. I just love the way folks reply: you tell me it is a developer thing; the developers tell me my question is Concrete5 general question?

Yes I have reviewed the page you linked for me, printed it out, understand some of it, others I don't because what can be turned on with others turned off.

It is just not the SS problem, it is all of it! I am not writing code, just someone trying to get a simple website up and look good AND not spend a fortune on it because of budget constraints.

Again, thank you for your time in trying to assist me........

Hi DawHart,

If you are looking for general concrete5 use information. I recommend reviewing the Editors documentation and 5.7 related videos on YouTube.
